guys now that the rumours are buzzing ,there is another one which states that these screenshots are from the 360 version and not the ps3 . apparently sony has instructed konami not to release any of the ps3 screenshots because i guess they want to release it with a bang and shock everyone .how i hope this is true but its a rumour so can't take it seriously . ;D ;D

Speculation From Japan Within 24 Hours
Its been less than 24 hours since Konami GmbH unveiled Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on all formats through a press release including six images. Already news coming out of Japan is sparking the flames between fanboys and making a huge statement that at this point in time is not clear whether it is speculation or reality.
The post coming from the Japanese GAME11 Forums says the following:
"PES 2008のイメージはゲームのPCそしてXbox 360版である。 PS3イメージはソニー輸出禁止のためにKonamiによって解放されない。"
Google Translation: "The image of PES 2008 is PC and Xbox 360 edition of the game. PS3 image is not released for the SONY embargo by Konami."
The translation is good and we gather that the post is saying Konami can't release any images of PES 2008 for the PS3 due to an embargo by Sony. Why would there be an embargo? What are the reasons behind this? Now if this statement is true then we are yet to see the PS3 images of PES 2008. Now at this moment in time this post is pure speculation, however as always we will try and find out if there is any truth behind this revelation.

"A recent on the Japanese WEYS.net Forums claims that Winning Eleven 11 (Japanese Release of PES 2008) will be released for the Playstation 3 on the 6th September. That would mean that the game would see an earlier release in Japan, which is the usual trend that Konami have followed over the years. It will be interesting to see of anything about Winning Eleven 11 is announced at the New Generation World Hobby Fair on saturday (23rd June 2007). Although the focus will be the new J-League WE 2007 Club Championship, we would not be surprised if Konami pulled of a sly one and announced/presented the PS3 version. More interestingly, continuing with the "Have we seen PS3 screenshots" saga, a recent post in a blog on the CVG (Computer & Video Games) website made some interesting claims/points. The entry which was posted by the PSM3 reviewer of PES 2008 made some interested points: "I've seen a fair bit more of PES 2008 than they've shown on the net, and I'm now super excited in an unashamedly zestful fan's way. I might be wrong. But at least I've got an idea what they're up to. I was also initially pleased, but underwhelmed, by the first batch of shots. From what Konami tell us, a lot of internal resource has been geared to the PS3 version, and it's seems only fair to be optimistic." This last statement clearly identifies what W.E.N.B. has informed viewers previously, that the PS3 is most likely the lead SKU. Although Konami will never publicly state this fact, it is known to many in the media that SEABASS has a preference for producing on the Playstation brand as we have seen over the years." winningeleven11.blogspot.com/

"We have just been alerted to a new article at the official Winning Eleven website from Konami Tokyo highlighting the future releases for the Japanese Market. It makes interesting reading and particularly since some of the dates don't follow typical Konami trends of the past. www.konami.jp/we/info/2007/06/2007.html2007 August 2nd PlayStation 2 J-League Winning Eleventh 2007 Club Championship 2007 October ニンテンドー DS World Soccer Winning Eleventh DS Series (Temporary Subject) 2007 winter PlayStation 2, PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360 World Soccer Winning Eleventh Series (Temporary Subject) Undecided PSP® PlayStation Portable Winning Eleventh Series (Temporary Subject) Undecided Nintendo Wii Winning Eleventh Series (Temporary Subject) In the past we have usually seen the Japanese market get Winning Eleven at least 3 months prior to the European release. However, as speculated before it seems that Europe get the early release this year, and this article pretty much confirms news that we have been informed of over the last week or so. Tune into this weekends podcast for further discussion about this news and all the weeks highlights."

"Konami Confirm PES 2008 to be released simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PS3 Speaking to UK trade publication MCV, Konami has confirmed that Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will be released on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms at the SAME TIME later this year. Also, instead of being called Pro Evolution Soccer 7, the title will be branded as Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 so that gamers can easily identify which is the latest version of the socccer-sim." www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=18287"Konami have included the Wii version of Winning Eleven on their latest release list... It seems that Konami aren't forgetting about the Wii when it comes to Winning Eleven. Known as Pro Evolution Soccer outside of Japan, Konami seemingly forgot to mention the Wii version in their latest release list, however, it seems that Japan will be getting the game on the Wii, thanks to a recent release list from Konami. The release list had the Wii version's date as "To Be Decided", with the DS version down as "October". It is also unknown if the game will reach it outside Japan - the GameCube version never left it's shores. Still, this shows that Konami haven't forgotten about the Wii." www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=10669

After delving through news on the CVG website, we came across a bit of news that should interest UK magazine readers. PSM3 magazine looks like its secured some sort of exclusive by showing off many more screen shots and game-play features in its forthcoming magazine: "Most annoyingly, we've seen a lot more of the game that they've shown on the internet - be sure to buy PSM3#90 on 5th July to see all-new screens from unseen areas of the game - and our mood has shifted from curious satisfaction to full-on, yelping, PES-cuddling mania. We can't say any more. But we think there are bigger changes than Konami are currently letting on." Very interesting, I'm sure everyones looking forward to July 5th now! winningeleven11.blogspot.com/peace

^^ I have a few back issues of PSM3 and yes, they love PES and give it awesome coverage. Wouldn't be surprised to see any exclusive content in it.
