Hey...does anyone know what's the difference between playing this on PS2 and PS3. I heard somewhere that it runs smoothly without tearing on PS2 but shows some glitches on PS3. I'm playing it on PS3 and it looks stunning without any issues so far. But I'm not sure if the updates have fixed all the emulating issues.

Codes High Definition Mode
This code is entered any time before the "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" screen. The letters on that screen will turn purple if done correctly.
L1, L2, L3, Circle and Square simultaneously

Ok..I got purple text and it showed options for widescreen and progressive scan. But these same settings can be changed from options menu too. So the game looks about the same and the TV shows it is running in VGA mode. I guess the only benefit over PS2 is texture smoothing and some AA.

I was trying it over HDMI. May be changing over to component will show "real" upscaling. Let's see...

HDMI is the best way to connect a system.i think the gow code only makes the game 480p ,nothing special .

Here's something I found... www.games.net/external/114587/108730/gamepro/god-of-war-ii/"The crazy idea occurred to us in the programming group that we could probaly manage to run the game in a slightly higher, more HDTV friendly resolution. There was a bit more VRAM left, a few more cycles we could spare. So hacks were added, and something we call HD-Mode was born. Now this is NOT 720p. It's actually 480p with FULL SIZE buffers, in other words, 640x448 resolution. It was tough to get it working, in fact we didn't fix the bug until the very very last day of the project. It almost didn't make it in and that is why we hid it rather than make it standard. The extra resolution makes the game run a little bit slower, but it's also prettier."Pretty interesting stuff..
