I know we shouldn't compare PS2 with 360. PS2 should be compared with the last gen Xbox...but wait a min, 20 consoles in 7 days ?? LOL. And talking about system sellers, the biggest drought now is faced by PS3, not 360, and yet it is closing the gap. 360 dominated 2006 next gen market because it was the only console in the next gen market then. Otherwise Gears would've been cross-platform, just like UT2007 now. They rushed half-assed console for marketshare and now they are paying for it.
And I'm glad Sony is funding newer IPs rather than going around bribing devs for exclusivity.

sanjoy gears of war sold more than ps3 consoles, how do u expect resistance and motrorstorm to beat it.as for numbers,in japan 360 sold 40k(not even half million) units in 20 months, you do the calculation.360 dosent have the drought,ps3 does now let me get into something that i shdntland im sure not many will like it.forza2 for all its greatness is yet to sell half million copies, compare that to the GT series which sells around 10mill units per version, trusty bell a game made by japanese for the japanese is outsold by sigma 2nd remake 3 year old action game, which appeals mostly to the hardcore gamesrs.

Did Mohit promis you to take to E3 or something ? No matter how good he is in person, he represents M$ and, I didn't wanna say this amongst all the excitement here, but I'll be damn surprised if Live comes to India at all. BTW clify B has decided to be M$'s bitch but he neither owns Epic nor develops Unreal Engine. And can't do shit about UT07 coming to PS3.

Report: PS3 $499 on July 12
Although Sony has yet to confirm a price drop officially, GameDaily BIZ has received confirmation from the retail sector that the PS3 will be dropped to $499 next week. Sony itself recently talked about "refining" the PS3 price. Now it appears to be happening. [Updated]
A PS3 price cut rumor spread like wildfire across the Internet this afternoon when several sites spotted a new advertisement from Circuit City. The ad as seen on Kotaku lists the PS3 console at $499.99, $100 less than its current price.
It wasn't clear at first if this ad was a special deal specific to the electronics retailer or if it's indeed a retail-wide price cut instituted by Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA). As it turns out, a merchandising manager (who wished to remain anonymous) at one of the world's biggest retailers has confirmed to GameDaily BIZ that the price drop is indeed retail-wide and it's scheduled to take place on July 12, although the first wave of ads to promote the PS3's new price won't kick in until Sunday, July 15.
Many analysts have speculated that Sony would drop the price on the expensive console this year, and some even predicted that it could happen this summer. It's starting to look like they were right. We're sure to find out much more next week when Sony holds its press conference at E3.

Reports are that several outlets of Target and Best Buy have already started selling it for 499. Walmart though, is still holding on to 599.
