They are still selling it at a big loss per console. May not be 399 but they can match Elite's cost. I bet M$ will drop their prices too, soon after PS3. All M$ needs is a kick in their butt by competition, like the fall update last year.

M$'s business strategies are based on their assumption that customers are either stupid or they have no choice. Their tactics are simple. Steal ideas from competitors, use crap hardware, and use the money you saved to bully around in the marketplace.

^^Actually speaking, the markets to which they cater to are stupid.....americans, most of them are stupid, think they are computing gurus and nerds but in actuallity only 30% of them are knowledgeable while the rest are in the bliss that what they get is great because it is america........But Microsoft makes the mistake of thinking the entire world to be a crappy mindless money filled farm, and hence the thought of us being stupid.............How they Bully the market is an altogether different ballgame..........4$$h0l3&  ! |

but will the American price drop effect indian grey market price? cuz indian grey market ps3 comes from Singapore or hk where ps3 costs like 20000 right now... so if the price of the ps3 drops to say $US 500 in the US(then it wil be equal to the price in HK/SG) , so will the price drop in HK/SG too? so that Indian ps3 grey price drops?
