Extensive multiplayer options revealed for Codemasters' cricket game.xbox360.ign.com/articles/747/747490p1.htmlTo coincide with the start of the Ashes, Codemasters has lifted the lid on its extensive online plans for the forthcoming ball whacker, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007. Multiplayer tournaments, including the ICC World Cup and Champions Trophy, will feature on Xbox Live and PC, along with online leagues, exhibition matches and warm-up games. Additionally, Live leaderboards will keep track of the best players from around the globe and wannabe Freddie Flintoffs who are hungry for gamer points can earn more by completing online achievements, such as scoring a century or winning a match at every ground in the game. Up to 16 people can compete in multiplayer tournaments simultaneously or, if you don't fancy getting your hands dirty, there's a spectator mode that enables up to eight players to sit back and pick up few tips from the stands. The PlayStation 2 version also incorporates online multiplayer but only for four players. In addition to its new online modes, Brian Lara 2007 will also feature official player names and likenesses for all the ICC's international cricket stars. The game is due out next March so if England bottle it against the Aussies in the next few weeks, at least we won't have too long to wait before we can exact out revenge.
