rumors from EGM(elrctronic gaming monthly)mag suggest that sony is working on a 99$ ps2 which comes packed with a wiimote like controller known as the waggle wand. what gives some base to the rumor is that last year sony filed a patent for a motion controlled controller ,which everyone though might be for some game on the ps3.looks like they had something else in mind   |

PROS99$$ makes it 150$$ cheaper than the wii 130 mill user base is bigger than ps3+360+wii+xbox+gamecube+n64+DC+psp combined. similarly powered to the wii,so devs can easily jump ships with their current projects. steals nintendo's thunder ,beats them at their own game. CONSchange the name ,WW sounds like a sex toy sony will have another blob in copying nintendo. might easily be a gimmick. addons are never sucessfull. might just be a rumor WISHESsony needs to bundle the controller with a wii play type game for around 50-60$$ they need to make the wand in such a way that it works with the ps3 right from the word go. they need to add that slick sony feel to the wand ,maybe a small color LCD. doubles up as a phone.

Something like this will further cannibalize PS3 sales. As it is people have trouble coughing (bleeding) up the $ 600 asking price of the PS3. Sony adds the current "in" tech to the best selling console of all time and you are gonna stick the proverbial "axe" on your own foot.

Well Done Sony !! actually no they wont,what the wii did is create a whole new market for itself,by making ppl who would never play videogames buy the wii,what sony will do is try to capture the market nintendo is making.why we shd leave alone the 360/ps3 here is because evryone including nintendo have been saying that the wii is not in the rat race.the ps2 sales are slowly dying ,the games are drying what this might move might do is give a fresh lease of life to the ps2.nintendo might be kicking themselves for making the wii so underpowered if its true. |

Well Done Sony !! no man....the wii and the ps2 target a diff category of ppl...those who dont want to spend too much and get HD consoles...but those who know the diff between HD, would go for the ps3 handsdown...!! what this move will do is tht it will make ps2 compete with the wii directly....so the ps3 will still sell and ppl will buy the ps2 also since its such a popular console and has the capabilities of the wii...!! ps - has any of u used the motion sensing camera add-on with the ps2?? i saw it in one sony world....it was real fun...it was some skate boarding game and u just have to move and the camera will move the board accordingly...!! real neat..!! the salesman was so excited tht he was trying to tell me tht the ps2 is better than the 360 coz of this..!! |
