Hi guys, I currently have a 29" Onida Poison home theater SD TV which I purchased like 5 months ago shelling out 25k. I am planning to buy a Xbox 360 now and was wondering the differences in Graphics, feel of the games on a HDTV and SD TV. I am a hardcore PC gamer and wanted to buy the Xbox 360 from a long time. Now that I have decided to get one, I started reading reviews and stuff like that and found out mixed reviews about the differences in gameplay wrt HDTV and SD TV. Please shed some light on - Does it do the Xbox justice by playing on SDTV? Is the quality like really really bad - all pixelated? Coz it is really hard to shell out 60-80k now and get a HDTV.. I am not a clarity freak(if you know what i mean), but decent graphics is necessary.

if you can afford it then hdtv is a must, not only the resolution is higher, there are also games on 360 like dead rising which on an sdtv makes the text almost unreadable and of course it looks much better
you should not forget to set it up in hd resolution,i have found that many gamers that i know don't set their 360 up properly, usually they play it through 480p and expect it to do miracles

I've used the 360 on both an SDTV (also Onida) and my Samsung HDTV which I got recently and trust me there difference is quality is worth it.
However, games do look good on an SDTV too. It's just that you won't be getting all the graphical bells and whistles, but by no means it looks crappy. A game like Gears of War looks amazing even on an SDTV.
And yeah as emoiwata said, text is sometimes unreadable on a standard definition display.

haha i wonder who these fools r who don't set their 360 on high resolution setting even when they r having a hdtv?...lol i think people like these don't deserve to have a 360....lame @ashwin, dude there is a huge differance b/w sd and hdtv resolution, and u dont have to shell 60 to 80 grand, lcd comp monitor r also gud option but for that u need a vga cable, the monitor will cost under 20 grand but if u r only interested in lcd tv then u can try samsung bordeux series, but i'll highly recommend u to wait for atleast 6 months as price drop in the lcd and plasma is on the cards in near future. peace

i would have considered that a lot of sony fanboys entered the survey, until i chked the site myself ,to give your vote you need to have a active gamertag,so the figure is actually quiet close. according to MS the failure rate is around 3-5 % muhahahaha, talk about showing and shoving the middle finger.

I bought an extra controller. I usually play WWE SVR 07 or GOW, R6V split screen with my brother. Thinking of buying DOA4 once the classic version is out. Apart from that I don't know if there are other good fighting games available.
