Sony & Samsung here in HK/TW/China/Jpn are using LG panels which are manufactured in Dongguan, China.
LG's facilities are run by Philips.
If you guys have access to Olevia Tv's in India ..I recommend checking them out. Great prices and quality.

in today's mumbai mirror there's an ad for a samsung 42 inch plasma (HD ready, 10,000:1 contrast ratio) for 80,000 in exchange for a 29 inch crt....i'm sooo tempted....my brother and i just decided to turn a room in my house into a media room...guess i'll wait till then

do u think plasma is advisable?i mean for india...where picture burning happens so much since most of the channels have their logo in the same area 24x7....the other day i saw a plasma tv in lifestyle....they all had start sports logo burnt on their screen....

yea, someone was telling me abt this.....samsung has full HD tvs tht are better than sony....coz sony only has HD ready tvs which can go upto max 1080 resolution....but the samsung full HD tvs can go at higher resolutions.....
but the 360 can go only to 1080...so as such no diff if u're using the 360....but later on, when higher resolutions come, then yr tv would be at its max capacity....
