EB Games Australia issues recall of all Xbox 360 stock
Heads up, Australian Xbox 360 fans. If you're planning to buy an Xbox 360 in the next couple of days, you might want to wait a while longer. According to a report from Kotaku, EB Games Australia has issued a recall of every single Premium Xbox 360 that they have in stock.
Apparently, store managers were asked by the EB Games head office two weeks ago to check each and every unit in their stores for errors. Last week, the order to return their entire Xbox 360 inventories came down. All promo material and dummy boxes of the console were reportedly removed as well.
No official word has come regarding the nature of the recall, but some reports have pegged it as a hard drive problem. EB Games employees were reportedly asked to check if any units in their store inventory booted up and went straight to an error code.
Kotaku reports that new shipments of quality-assured consoles should be hitting the company's headquarters in Queensland today (Monday). Other EB Games stores across Australia are expected to get their new Xbox 360 shipments by Wednesday.
