With the release of the PSP's firmware update 3.50, remote capabilities between the PS3 and PSP from anywhere in the world is now possible. Yet more exciting is that with the new PS3's ability to stream from a DLNA server on your PC, you can now access your PC files on your PSP anywhere in the world, via the PS3!
Apart from the visual capabilities enabled by the 1.80 firmware update on the PS3, which you can find in our articles here and here, firmware 1.8 also allowed PS3 owners to create a home network. Over this network users can play content stored on connected computers compatible with the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) on their PS3. This increased the media capabilities of the PS3 on the spot, allowing you to access your movies, music and pictures remotely (also allowing you to free up space on your PS3's HDD.) Plus, even though the PS3 does not support AVI files, we at Gameswank discovered a method to transcode AVI files on the fly so you can play them in all their glory on your TV.

Yet with the arrival of PSP firmware update 3.50, the main feature that Sony touts is added Remote Play functionality. The update allows PSP users to access their connected PS3s through the handheld from anywhere with an available Wi-Fi broadband connection.
But more exciting is the ability to access your PC through DLNA server stremaing to your PS3, and then through remote play all the way back to your PSP. You can now access all your movies (whatever they may be), pictures, and music streaming from your PC to your PS3 and to your PSP, anywhere in the world!
