Not sure if you guys (and gals?) are into this sort of thing (it does turn me on), but here's the consoles sales for the month of November as tracked by NPD, for the USA: DS - 918K PS2 - 664K GBA - 641K 360 - 511.3K Wii - 476K (2 day sales number) PSP - 411.9K PS3 - 196.6K GoW sold about a million, 360 sales are good but not as good as they ought to have been (especially after all the bundles which the US retailers offered), the DS is just a monster. If this goes on, the DS could cross 35 million worldwide by the end of this year. And GBA still going strong 0_0 Nintendo sold around 2 million hardware in November. Insane. Viva Pinata didn't do too well Zelda Twilight Princess sold around 412K, about 85% tie ratio if going by 476K number.

there was a time billie goat claimed the 360 would have a 10mn headstart over the ps3 & wii/revolution!
ms is still gung-ho about reaching 10mn units by the year end -- dont know how they count sales -- units shipped OR sell-throughs...

NPD obviously tracks sell-throughs. When MS mentions numbers, it means shipped to retailers; Sony means almost the same (mostly means shipped to warehouses), Nintendo generally means sold. The 360's about 3.8 million in the US (sold), maybe ~2million in Europe (not sure on this), so still a way away from the 10 million target.
Some software numbers:
1. Gears of War - 1,000,000 2. FFXII - 896,000 3. Twilight Princess - 412,000 4. Guitar Hero II - 356,000
GTA: LCS sold around 120K. I think PSP's multimedia capabilities are hurting its gaming wing: 400+ PSPs sold and the best game only manages to cross the 120 mark.
