heard from a few sources that the PS3 (Jap ver) is available for ~40K in Mumbai -- check with your local importer/electronic store for more details.

Before anyone buys a Jap PS3 be aware that some Asian and US games (supposedly region free) are not working on it.
There have also been problems with the power supply when a transformer is used. There have been a lot of early adopters with Jap PS3's trying to get units fixed at Sony over the past week. Sony has now put up large signs on the doors of service centers stating that "Parallel/Gray Market PS 3's Carry No Warranty & Will Not Be Serviced Even For A Fee"
I recommend waiting for the March '07 launch and buying a local model. If you are really impatient and must have one consider a Asian (HK/Taiwan/Sing) model instead.

thanks for the inside info BP. most shops only offer a 24hr test window and that too is subjective.
so be fore-warned you all!

You should have no problems getting a Wii very soon as there are LOADS of them in NE Asia and they are not moving. Nintendo here is rumored to be planning a price cut if this trend continues.
Also about the PS3..DO NOT buy the 20GB model. Some gamers are reporting HDD problems when rthey replace them with higher capacity drives. I upgraded my 60G model with no problems at all (so far).
