its coming its coming ps3 limited edition coming with the blu ray of hard boiled For the past few years, acclaimed director John Woo has been working on 'Stranglehold', a game which follows the Inspector Tequila and the highly choreographed gun fights that he seems to always be caught up in. The game is a continuation of the story of the insanely popular John Woo movie 'Hard Boiled', and those who pick up the collectors edition version of the game will the get the movie newly remastered in high definition on Blu-ray. A few months ago, Midway, the company which is producing the game, polled users on its website if they would like Hard Boiled included with the purchase of the game. Users overwhelmingly responded that they would, and Midway has responded with $70 Collectors Edition of the game ($10 more than a regular PS3 game). No word if this would be the only way to get the movie in high definition, but it will be a nice bonus for those who buy the game. www.n4g.com/tech/News-40059.aspx

i think now gamers will realise the scope of bd blue-ray, it's going to be quite popular when high data requirement will arise in the development of future hd games. i hope sony live up to it's hype as they have been always a pioneer in bringing high class products, it's just their arrogancy which is creating problems, they should listen to consumers demands and hire some good marketing chaps as their present 1s suck big time.

i think sony have paid midway look what i found from ign. One area that may wind up having a difference between the two systems however is with regards to multiplayer. A representative told us that it would indeed be present in the game on the PlayStation 3, but Midway is keeping mum on details about it for now.

collectors edition the ironic part is the movie is being brought to us by the permission of the Weinstien company , one of the only two company exclusive to HD-DVD and thats not supporting blu-ray .

Stranglehold Release Date AnnouncedA release schedule released today by local Midway distributor Red Ant included some dates for a couple of highly anticipated 2007 releases. Most prominent of which was the John Woo ‘directed’ third-person shooter Stranglehold. The game is set to hit Australian store shelves on September 6th, with a simultaneous release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Stranglehold created plenty of buzz at E3 2006, with famed Hollywood director Woo using the video game medium and regular working companion Chow Yun-Fat’s vocal and visual likeness to creative a narrative sequel to the classic 1992 cop film Hard Boiled. We were lucky enough to see the game in action then, and even 18 months prior to its eventual release it was looking mighty slick and made the most of the next-gen consoles’ power. Playing as Chow Yun-Fat’s character Tequila, users can clamber, climb and skate on almost every part of the environment as armies of henchman shoot everything in sight to bits. Whole chucks of wall go flying as lighting and particle effects go ape-shit in a style reminiscent, but miles ahead of Black. Hope the date's around the corner for all other regions as well.. www.gameplayer.com.au/Home/News/NewsArticle/tabid/55/Default.aspx?CID=11f83be6-3a92-4830-b279-e04f54122398
