new preview: ps3.ign.com/articles/780/780494p1.html"Following the incredible demo, which lasted about 25 minutes, Kobayashi revealed another secret: Dante would indeed be playable within Devil May Cry 4, and he would have his standard weapons available to him. He'd also have access to some of the styles that he had available to him in DMC 3, and we were shown how the Sword Master and Gunslinger styles translated over to the PS3. Apparently, switching between styles will be as easy as pressing a button, and while Kobayashi didn't mention how many styles would be available to Dante, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that the ones from the previous title would most likely carry over to DMC 4. Kobayashi also alluded to an aspect of the story, in that Dante appears to be an enemy of Nero's at first, but there's a specific story as to why he takes those actions. Of course, he didn't elaborate on that point, leaving the mystery for us to ponder, but he did allow us to check out the demo that he'd just shown.""Nero appears to be a much more sarcastic hero than Dante, with numerous quips readily on the tip of his tongue for any situation, including various battle taunts. There was a downside to playing the demo: after smashing our way through various creatures and making them beg for mercy, it made us want to play more."

Source: GameRevolution DMC4 ExtravaganzaCapcom has released a slew of screenshots and concept art for their upcoming blockbuster title Devil May Cry 4, as well as a terse breakdown of the game's moveset. "Stylish" has always been the reigning word in this edition of the Devil May Cry series, and this time around, Dante is stepping down as the main character to be replaced by Nero, a young knight with a demon-possessed right arm that gives him incredible power. However, as some of the following screenshots indicate, Dante will be playable through at least some portion of the game. Capcom promises that the new demon-arm will supplement the core sword-and-gun gameplay defined in the first three titles, but will add new moves, such as the ability to drag and throw enemies. Here's a list of Nero's new abilities:Charge ShotNero can use his gun to attack with a charged shot. It takes a few seconds to build up, but it releases a powerful attack that can knock back smaller enemies, making it a good finishing move in a combo. SnatchUsing his "Devil Bringer" arm, Nero can snatch and drag distant enemies closer. This allows you to knock a foe backwards and snatch them in again to continue a combo. The arm also works on things other than enemies, such as orbs and items, making it a useful ability while exploring the game world. The screenshot below shows Nero snatching an item lying in an otherwise inaccessible area behind an iron grill. Hell BoundFound within some stages are objects called "Grim Grips", which can alter the fabric of space-time. By using Nero's devil arm, it is possible to teleport instantly to other places where Grim Grips are located. ExceedThe grip of Nero's sword is shaped like a motorcycle handle, and by twisting it to charge up the EX gauge, Nero can unleash a big slashing attack. The EX gauge has three charge levels and can only be filled under certain conditions, such as when Nero is walking. When the gauge fills up it flashes and remains primed until you attack. The return of DanteAs previously confirmed, Dante will be making a return to the game, and these screenshots are proof. Also returning will be his trademarked guns "Ebony and Ivory", as well as his sword "Rebellion". Capcom has also promised to prepare a new set of moves for the DMC veteran, so we'll be on the lookout for those as well. From the looks of the screenshots, it looks like Dante fights Belial as well. While this could be an indication of a "boss mode", it could also suggest that gamers will be able to play through the whole game as Dante, and not just in necessary parts of the game's plot. Along with the screenshot update come images from two new areas -- the snowy field and the fortress city. The snow field Inside the fortress city Two new bosses, known as Frost and Belial, were revealed in detail through Capcom's screenshot update. FrostThis former king of the magical world has the power to manipulate ice, and is an all-around demon with both offensive and defensive capabilities. Not only does he exhibit speed and unparalleled destructive power, but he also has the power to generate a defensive ice barrier while restoring his strength. BelialA demon born from flames -- even in the magical world, Belial can be particularly savage. Fire that this magical king sends out can reduce buildings to ash in moments. Due to the fact that his body is covered in incandescent flames, he obviously can't be touched. Even if a player tries to "snatch" Belial, his monstrous body forces Nero to be the one pulled closer. Defeating this demon will require some thinking outside of the box.
