Apart from the rap, pop, metallic licensed music we have come to love, we have developers who tend to go an extra mile and make their own Special Epic Music for their Games...
Music of which even if you hear one note, you can say "Ah that Game". I was never actually engrossed in the Music the games had to offer but all that changed when certain games came around...
Mafia was the first 3D Game that i ran on my first PC with onboard Graphics Chipset which had managed to run this game with struggling frame rates but i completed this game a dozen times till i moved on... The game has one of the best Intros and Soundtrack you can imagine. I fell in love with the Music the first time i played it with its classical 30's music playing in the background... The level of intensity of the music changing with the present condition and location, absolutely fell in love with it..
Then there was that Medal of Honor game that had that epic war music feel to it, can't stop but admiring it. I fell so in love with the Allied Assault Soundtrack that i made sure i pre-ordered my Pacific Assault from US the day it got released...
In the current scene, i came to love the Epic Soundtracks of God Of War ( Oh My ! This game manages to impress you with the magnitude of the scenario in every way possible ) and then there is the current Gears Of War which also has the same heart thumping music...
In all when ever i hear some music from old games, i feel like shedding a tear cause of how good it was.. eg. i bumped upon this www.break.com/index/halo_theme_performed_live.html and just remembered when i played that game few years back for my PC and enjoyed it so much...If you played Halo and if you hear this Soundtrack, there is no way that you don't have hair standing on your arms...
Which Games Music have you come to love/enjoy, mention them here....
