My zip code in Redmond washington is 98008 I thought Redmond only has four codes, 98052,98053,98073 & 98074. The zip code 98008 is for Bellevue. You should be knowing that for a guy who has lived his whole life there. I've been there only once. May be you're mistaken unless...

i think the share of parallel imports (ntsc-j & ntsc-uc machines) + modded consoles > than the official pal console sales -- partly owing to their longer availability and partly because of their cheaper price.

The PS3 and Wii have been posting some impressive numbers lately. According to figures from Media Create Co. Ltd, Sales of both the PS3 and Wii consoles in Japan jumped during the second week of December thanks to greater supplies of the consoles from their respective manufacturers.
The Wii was the best-selling console for the week with 108,237 units. Sony's PS3 came in second with 70,942 units and Microsoft's Xbox 360 came in third at 17,168 units. With the exception of the launch weeks, these are the best weekly figures posted by the new PS3 and Wii consoles yet.
While the Xbox 60 is still lagging behind the hometown consoles, the sheer power of Blue Dragon bumped up sales of the Microsoft console, with current sales being well above those recorded in November. Over the week spanning December 4 to 10, over 35,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold thanks to Blue Dragon's launch.

gamerevolution.com/news/view.php?id=2125ps2 to outsell ps3 in 2007 and 2008?? "The PS2 already owns the industry's all-time sales record," said Business Week. "As of last March, Sony had shipped more than 103 million units worldwide. In the year ending in March, 2007, Sony expects to sell an additional 11 million -- and just 6 million PS3s. In the following year, Sony will likely ship another 11 million PS2s vs. 7 million PS3s, according to research by rating agency Standard & Poor's (MHP)."
Looks like Sony was right about a ten-year console lifespan. And with an $8 profit made on each PS2 sold at $130 versus an estimated $250 loss on each PS3, don't expect Sony to kill production on the PS2 anytime soon.

Wii sales surge in japan gamerevolution.com/news/view.php?id=2126Sales totaled 279,277 units for the week, according to figures from Media Create Co. Ltd. That's more than double the number sold a week earlier and the greatest weekly sales yet with the exception of launch week, when 350,358 consoles were sold, according to Media Create.
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.'s PlayStation 3 also saw sales jump on the previous week, although the climb was much more modest. A total of 76,882 units were sold, said Media Create.
Sales of both consoles are constrained by supply at present, so it's difficult from the figures to gauge which will eventually prove more popular among Japanese gamers.
With the latest figures, Nintendo sits on the cusp of selling its millionth Wii console in Japan. To Dec. 24, a total of 824,311 units have been sold, putting the million mark well within reach during the last week of the year as long as the company can keep supplies flowing into shops. In contrast, total sales of the PlayStation 3, which has been on sale for 3 weeks longer than Wii, totaled 385,791 units due to lower supply.
The figures also delivered some good news for Microsoft Corp. Sales of the Xbox 360 were 17,213 units, which is almost unchanged from the week earlier and still well above their level in November. Microsoft launched the long-awaited "Blue Dragon" game in Japan in early December and offered a special-edition Xbox 360 console to accompany the title. That appears to have boosted sales for the machine.
In the software chart, Wii Sports ranked fifth with sales of 152,756 units, making it the highest-selling software title of the week for any of the three consoles. The title is sold separately in Japan but bundled with the console in North America.
Overall, the handheld Nintendo DS Lite maintained its strong lead with sales of 485,584 units, said Media Create. Its closest handheld rival, Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP) sold 138,588 units for the week. Six of the top-ten software titles were for the DS, including number-one-ranked "Pokemon Diamond," while the PSP game "Metal Gear Solid Portable" ranked second.Japan console sales for the week dec.18 to 24 PS3 - 76,882 Wii - 279,277 X360 - 17,213

ps3 production costs will go down next year once the blu ray issues are sorted out,blu ray is the only thing that losses money on the ps3.had ps3 been made with a normal dl-dvd drive like the 360 ,sony might have ended up making a neat profit on the ps3

360 leads holiday sales xbox360.ign.com/articles/752/752823p1.htmlAccording to preliminary NPD data, the Xbox 360 was the best-selling console during the holiday season in the U.S. CNBC is reporting that Americans picked up two million units of Microsoft's system during the period.
But Nintendo was not far behind. In spite of limited availability, the Wii sold 1.8 million units from its launch until December 25. Sony only moved approximately 750,000 units of the PlayStation 3, due to manufacturing problems and decreased demand. Over the holidays, IGN repeatedly found PS3s available at retailers while no Wiis were in sight. The price of a PS3 on eBay has also dropped to around its MSRP, while the Wii is still selling for over twice its retail price.
NPD expects to release complete sales data for the holiday season later this month.

gamerevolution.com/news/view.php?id=2129 PlayStation 3: 75 million units by 2010?Not pictured: the other 74,999,999 PS3s.
On the one hand you have all the recent anecdotes about "big box" stores being stuck with unsold PS3s, and on the other you have frustrated gamers reporting their continuing inability to get their mitts on one to bring home. Well, add some more mud to the water, because Research and Markets has released their prediction that the PS3 will sell 75 million units by 2010, thereby winning "the console war in the long term."
"The console is not expected to dominate as much as its predecessor, the PS2, due to late launch issues in the PAL region, and the early lead of Microsoft's Xbox 360," offers the brief abstract posted on the the Research and Markets website.
A full copy of the report would presumably explain the logic behind such a bold prediction, but you'd have to fork out a whopping 2,028 Euros (US$2,694) to snag a copy.

It seems that Microsoft has taken a bit of a hit lately, with the company's Entertainment and Devices division posting a US$ 289 million loss for the second quarter. According to GamesIndustry.biz, they've also cut fiscal year estimates for Xbox 360 hardware and now expects to ship a total of 12 million units by the end of June 2007, down from the original estimate of between 13 and 15 million. Commenting to Reuters, Microsoft CFO Chris Liddell says that the company is "just being cautious about the second half. There's a reasonable amount of inventory in the channel." Despite the US$ 289 million loss, the Entertainment Devices division was also responsible for a US$ 2.63 billion profit during the second quarter. Microsoft says that repair expenses and the extension of the 360 console warranty from nine months to a year in the US and Canada ate into the division's profitability. The Entertainment and Devices division not only incorporates the Xbox 360 and software, but also the newly launched Zune media player, PC games, TV platform products, and mobile and embedded devices. gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=22385
