Till a few months back i was a die-hard PC gaming nut, and used to try-or-buy-or-download almost every PC game that was released. I'd also pick a select few titles (mostly exclusives) for the PS2/Xbox along with checking out interesting looking games for the PSP (mostly puzzle-based games like Loco Roco, Exit, Katamari, Mercury, Lemmings, Worms and some platform exclusives like Syphon Filter, Daxter, etc) Then I bought a DSLite and kinda abandoned my PSP -- I love the time-filler games on the DSL, which is just right for a short'n'quick gaming fix on the go. Now that i've got a 360, I'm thinking of quitting PC gaming altogether. Yeah, it sounds drastic, but I think these next-gen consoles provide a compelling gaming experience (which has been the sole privilege of PC gamers in the last 3-4 years) without any of the hassles. Cmon, aren't we fed up with the countless driver updates, starforce related re-installs, hour long installations and constant need for patches? Probably in a 15-18months with the release of DirectX 11+ and multi-core GPUs that have native physics processing, i might consider switching back to the PC. But for now, I think i'll use the 360 as my primary gaming platform (or maybe the PS3 in 6-8months). Umm, I'm still confused...!! V

If "PC Gaming" is what you are thinking about, then for now you can abandon it cause next-gen console gaming gives the same experience or in many cases better. As i said, for now lol DX11 ? DX10 is arriving soon and with 8000 series of Nvidia showing phenomenon boost over previous series, seems like PC gaming is not going anywhere. IMHO it is just going to get better, when developers start using DX10. x3k0t

well dx10 and vista are almost upon us. as are gpus with prrimitive physics processing. so i'm speculating that it'll probably be 12-18months down the line with the advent of dx10b/dx11/dx12 and multi core GPUs when the PC gaming scene becomes interesting again.

This is just my opinion, but most PC gamers seem to be tech-heads that like games, while hardcore console gamers just love playing games...
Plus with the relatively high-risk modding scene for the 360, i'm starting to enjoy playing games once again (since i cant afford to buy all the games). previously it was more of -- play for 15 mins, form a stubborn opinion about the game and then call it quits just as quickly.

Consoles rule big time......!!! playstation has its own hoard of games and still going strong..... ...original xbox was a lemon if compared to ps2 but with 360, MS has had a good start and might be market leader for some time (playstation 3 IMO will sooner(3 yrs) or later(5-7 yrs) catch up)

IMO, consoles and PCs have their own genre of games. PCs are ideal for RPGs with 100+ keys. They are also good shooters because of mouse control, although player still has to fumble with weird WSAD combos on keyboard. But, I can't imagine playing Ninja Gaiden or DMC on keyboard. If you long for fast paced action, then its consoles only. They are easy to set-up, pick and play type. Plus the hardware is future proof for atleast 4/5 years (MS consoles excluded) and games continue to look better on same machine as oppose to PC.

you forgot to mention RTS games CC -- that's always been the PC's forte.

it's always been the consoles for me too.i used to play fps games on my pc(i don't play rts games much) but now my pc doesn't meet the recommended requirements of today's shooters. so it's just the ps2 and 360 for me now.
