Following the press release announcement that current Xbox 360 VP Peter Moore would be jumping ship from Microsoft to head up the EA Sports division came details on Moore's new salary. An SEC Form 8-K filing detailing Peter's compensation reveals that his new base salary at EA will be $550,000 not including a "discretionary target bonus" of 75% of his annual base salary, up to $412,500. In other words, he's rich, bitch. But that's not all.
In addition to his base pay, Moore will also receive a signing bonus of $1.5 million if he remains with EA for two years. However, that bonus will be paid out within 30 days of his employment, to be repaid if Moore moves on from the company before his two year anniversary.
Moore will also receive a stock grant of 50,000 restricted shares, half of which vest at two years into his EA employment with the other half vesting at the four year mark. At the current after hours value of EA stock, his shares would value $4.26 million, a figure sure to change before 2009. He's also been given a stock option grant to purchase 350,000 shares as part of the company's Equity Incentive Plan.
On top of all that Moore moolah, the former Sega Dreamcast exec will be granted $330,000 in moving expenses. Looks like Peter can finally afford that laser tattoo removal!

MaxConsole reports: "Ok so now it has been confirmed that former Microsoft Xbox head Peter Moore has LEFT the company to join EA Sports. It all came as a bit of a shock but Sony's Jack Tretton has wished Moore the best of luck at Electronic Arts and is looking forward to working with Moore in his new position."

dude who cares... bill gates can buy a million Peter Moore's one goes another will come... why will a 360 fan be disappointed. u guys really know how to make a mountain of a mole hill... man.. awwww....i can feel the pain in this post its not about how many peter moores gates can buy.....its about the fact that things at MS are going down the shitter and moore is once again a captain abandoning a sinking ship (maybe thats a little exxagerated).......i'm sure they can find some1 to take his place, maybe even do a better job.....but this is indicative of some serious problem at MS' gaming division....why else would he quit being the boss of MS gaming and take up a job at EA sports....its a maor step down for him peace

why because he is a succor for money his new base salary at EA will be $550,000 not including a "discretionary target bonus" of 75% of his annual base salary, up to $412,500. In other words, he's rich, bitch. But that's not all.

i would love to have some1 who actually brings MS back to where they were 6 months ago....about EA sports titles going exclusive to the 360....its not gonna happen.....EA sports wouldnt be what it is today without the PS2 so EA has to show sony love....EA bosses wont let EA sports titles go exclusive to either console....maybe NBA live coz sony has its own NBA game...other than that, not possible
peace

M$ can have all the EA sports exclusive they want. EA sports was PS2 Online exclusive till 2004 and didn't do any good to it.

sorry to step on ur sega fanboy toes...but u really can compare sega to sony from EA's pov peace Actually he can. He has a valid point here. You are right when you say that EA has had growth because of PS2 BUT to be on PS2 roster's EA had come up on Sega consoles. Sega was the early pillar of support for EA and KC is right again when he says that all Software firms are at the end of the day business houses, so whatever brings in the moolah is good enough for 'em. Remember Capcom. Those losers actually grew on the Playstation in CD/DVD timezone (not talking about cartridge days) but that did not prevent them from going multiplatform and 360 exclusive (Lost Planet).

how things change within a week ROFL
"We wish Peter the best of luck in his new role at Electronic Arts and look forward to working with him," Tretton said in a statement.
"We have an outstanding relationship with EA and their sports products have been incredibly successful on all our platforms. I am sure this will continue with Peter now at the helm."
