For those of you who have not heard, the Formula 1 world is going thru a major industrial espionage scandal right now, with the Fer(Phew)rarri team bringing court charges against one of their own employees and a now ex McLaren Mercedes employee. The charges pertain to the transfer of 780 pages of technical documentation pertaining to the specifications of the current Phewrarri F1 car, Phewrrari's team tactics and strategies and other such information. The employees named are Nigel Stepney of Phewrarri and Mike Coughlan of McLaren Mercedes. The FIA have gotten involved in the controversy now and are conducting an investigation into the affair. Unfortunately, they have called on McLaren to make a representation to the FIA on charges of "illegal possession of confidential information". This is really sad as McLaren has the reputation as the most honest and scrupulous team on the grid and they have been summoned inspite of the team publicly stating that the employee had been acting alone and no part of the information contained in the documents have been incorporated into the current McLaren Mercedes MP4-22 Formula 1 race car. If found guilty, McLaren could face expulsion from the championship this year which would be a disaster, since this is the first time in the history of F1 that we actually have the possibility of a rookie driver winning the drivers' world championship. Lewis Hamilton of McLaren Mercedes leads the Drivers' Standings by 12 points from his teammate, current two time world champion, Fernando Alonso, with the two Phewrrari monkeys of Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa a further 6 and 7 points adrift respectively. McLaren also lead the constructors' championship by 25 points over Phewrrari.

i honestly dont care about the ferrari f1 team...i'm a little divided this season since i'm a kimi and mclaren fan
but vikram, don't let me ever see u drag the ferrari name through the dirt like that....they have a legacy, history and class that mclaren and mercedes put together can never dream of matching
btw, while we're talking about this, alonso and hamilton are possibly the worst team mclaren has had in the last decade (since i've been following the sport), whether or not they win the championship this year.....both pussies and cry babies imo
peace

I have been a McLaren F1 fan since I can remember watcing F1 and I have every right to punt Ferrari's name around. I have nothing against the Ferrari car company. I just cant stand the Phewrrari F1 team.
And legacy-wise McLaren-Mercedes are the second oldest and second most succesful team in F1, the first being Phewrrari. So they too have a very long and lasting legacy (including the late, great Ayrton Senna). Also dont forget the frightfully dominant McLaren-Tag-Porsches and McLaren-Hondas of the '70s and '80s.
As regards the current McLaren driver line-up, I dont disagree that current F1 drivers have far less flair (and zero personality in the case of Kimi Raikonnen, whom I worshipped till he defected) than the superstars of yore. But considering the huge amounts of money being pumped into F1 today (today's budgets are more than 7 times what they were 10 years ago) the drivers are under a lot of pressure to perform and exceed expectations. When you have two drivers of equal skill competing in equal cars, its but natural to have these whining and mind games being played to try and gain a psychological advantage over the opposition, team mate included.

F1 has to change the rules.. because they were beating other teams back and blue.. MCLosers always want the best.. when Mika Hakkinen was at his best .. praise him to hilt.. when he has a dip in form throw him out.. now they by luck got a rookie who is doing well.. so they start treating Alonso like shit... i just hope Ferrari wins this case.. and McLosers and Ron Dennis should be banned for a year

Poor Lewis Hamilton !!! Got screwed due to a front right tyre failure in the third qualifying session and hit the barriers at 150 mph. Will now start 10th on the grid and is still not cleared by the doctors to race tomorrow.
