Here’s some new info about Killzone 2 from and insider who supposedly has seen a trailer of it. Here are some quotes… “There are two things i have to share with you guys, you can take it for what its worth i don’t really care if you believe me or not, but if i didn’t share it, id feel bad, i cant hold it in either so here it is… 1. God Of War 3 is in playable form, its going through testing cycles right now 2. Killzone 2 looks fantastic, nobody is gonna be disappointed i cant confirm if God of War 3 is going to be at E3 this year, but know that is very heavily on its way and killzone looks freaking awesome, you guys are gonna love it don’t ask how or why, just take it for what it is, youll see tomorow” “I have no idea about the God Of War stuff, someone broke their NDA today, it was pretty funny, haha I wouldn’t say Killzone looks as good as the trailer, id say i was definitely blown away though, i don’t know anything about how it plays, and i cant confirm any of the other rumors about it, but the lighting was awesome, textures looked super clean, explosions were top notch, animations weren’t like, scripted but its Killzone if you know what i mean, arrrrghhh, i hope i see more tonight as in after the even in Santa Monica, i wasn’t as indulged as i wanted to be” gamers-creed.com/?p=381

Microsoft Games announces a new India Heritage Series game called "Grand Theft Dabba"
Following hot on the heels of the success of Yuvraj Singh Cricket, Microsoft Games and the Mumbai Dabbawalla Union are pleased to announce the launch of a new title specifically aimed at the Indian gaming market. Built of a modified version of Rockstar's RAGE engine, Grand Theft Dabba will feature a painstakingly detailed recreation of the city of Mumbai (formerly Bombay). Players will take on the role of Raju Bhole, a small town lad who comes to the big city looking for a way to make a decent living. Along the course of the game, Raju will break into the dabbawalla cartel and rise from a junior dabbawalla or "dhondu" as it is locally known, deputed on the worst circuit of the city, from Virar to Kurla, to become the cartel lord or "dhondibhai".
The game will offer a true living, breathing simulation of Mumbai, with day-night cycles, floods during monsoons, dug up roads and open drains. Players will get the opportunity to cylce thru the bye-lanes or gullies of Mumbai, get chased and bitten by stray animals, walk through garbage (the sound engine utilised in the game will make the appropriate squishing sounds depending on fast or slow the player moves). The Havok physics engine will simulate real time material deformation allowing players to see and fell the real stresses endured by the dabbalwallas on their daily routines such as punctured bicycle tires caused by carelessly discarded nails and sharp stones. Players will have to dodge taxis, rickshaws, trucks, tempos and other vehicular hazards while navigating their dabba transportation mediums such as hand carts, cycles and their own heads. In addition, the entire local train system of the city has been recreated in full for the players to take advantage of in their quest to become the "dhondibhai".
Microsoft Games is also pleased to announce the special collectors edition version of GTD. This pack will include the standard GTD game bundled along with a USB olfactory stimulant dispenser specially made for the Xbox 360. This will allow players a new level of immersion by simulating the smells of the city of Mumbai as the players traverse the game. This will include the smells of spicy hot food, stale dabbas, garbage, wet dogs, sweaty bodies and farts.
The game will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 game system. The standard version will retail for US$ 49.99 and the collectors edition will retail for US$ 89.99. Special versions of both packs will be made available exclusively for the Indian market, where the prices will be determined by the consumers bargaining power.

Tough talker, this Kitaue. No mincing of words. Which could explain why he decided, on the eve of e3, to cast some doubt on Metal Gear Solid 4's PS3 exclusivity.
Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps.

No mincing of words. Which could explain why he decided, on the eve of e3, to cast some doubt on Metal Gear Solid 4's PS3 exclusivity. Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps.full article Konami sees little PS3 price cut impact LOS ANGELES, July 9 (Reuters) - Sony Corp.'s $100 price cut for the PlayStation 3 is not enough to turn the fortunes of the game console, which has suffered a slow start, an executive of game software maker Konami Corp. said. Sony cut the PS3 price to $500 in the United States on Monday, in a bid to ignite demand. But it still costs twice that of Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s Wii console, whose $250 price and motion-sensing controller have made it a best-seller despite its lack of cutting-edge graphics. "I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100," Kazumi Kitaue, the head of Konami's North American and European operations, told Reuters in an interview ahead of this week's E3 video game industry trade show. "I don't expect a substantial impact ... With $500, you can buy a personal computer." Sony has packed its cutting-edge technology including a Blu-ray high-definition DVD player and high-performance chips in the PS3. The advanced functions enable life-like graphics, but have driven up production costs. Its high price and a lack of attractive software have been cited as major reasons for the PS3's plight. Kitaue said Konami may need to expand the target hardware for its blockbuster fighting game Metal Gear Solid, which has so far been developed for Sony's PlayStation machines, to other consoles in the future to recoup development costs. "Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," Kitaue said. Konami plans to launch Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PS3 in the current business year to March 2008. The release of the latest version of Metal Gear Solid series is expected to help lure hard-core gamers to the PS3 and alleviate concerns over scarcity of strong PS3 titles. Underscoring sluggish PS3 sales and robust demand for the Wii, Nintendo shot past Sony in market value last month and bumped the Tokyo-based electronics conglomerate off the list of Japan's 10 most valuable companies. Kitaue also said operating profit at Konami's game division is likely to grow in the next business year starting April 2008, following an estimated 5 percent growth for the current year, as the user base for new consoles -- Microsoft Corp Xbox 360 as well as the Wii and PS3 -- expands. "Next year is still a growth period. I think we will grow, and so will the industry," he said. Konami, which competes neck and neck with No.1 video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. in Europe's soccer game market, has the potential to double its soccer software sales in the United States, gaining on EA, Kitaue said. "Our soccer game sales in the United States total a little fewer than 500,000 units. If we combine ours with EA's, that's going to be 2 to 3 million units. I believe, with proper preparation, we can bring our number to 1 million," he said. Following Kitaue's comments, shares in Sony closed down 1.1 percent at 6,460 yen on Tuesday in Tokyo, while Konami, known for such games as Dance Dance Revolution and Pro Evolution Soccer, gained 0.9 percent to 2,940 yen. peace
