Theres no specific degree or anything....and IMO the animation classes here are crap.....try learning shit urself....there r tons of videos online....try making stuff..models etc...hopefully ull be taken in by the mobile game developers here. Face It.The Games industry isnt here, yet and wont be here for the next 20-to-infinite years, unless its just hardcore Coding....which they anywayz use indian programmers for !

wat if i want to go abroad after doin the animation stuff? Career in gaming can be in three ways: 1. Programmer - u need to be very good in 3D Math and know OOP with C++. System programming (C or assembly) can help you too. 2. Artistic stuff - You need to know stuff like Maya, illustrator, 3D Max, and other basics of animations and drawing. 3. Technical writer and stuff - these are the ppl who write game manuals, instructions and stuff. Need good english and some basics of MS Word, Adobe framemmaker etc There are other depts like music, level designer etc which I dont know much about. But the above can be taken as basic bi-foracation ! If you ask me, the only place to get into comparitively easier is the first one ! If u really r desperate to get into gaming, then u better start off low and take the high path. But let me warn you, not to discourage you, but the truth is, developing a game is not as lucrative and sexy as playing it ! Its long hours of work, crunched deadlines, no weekends and lousy pay ! Many employees of EA sued the company sometime back becoz of the long hours the company asked from the employees. And another problem is job security, unless u r in companies like EA or MS or Sony or to some extent Ubisoft, your position is extremely volatile. But if u r really interested chk this link out. It has some good info: www.fastgraph.com/makegames/chapt1.htmlGoogle and you'll get more....but check it out first, evey gamer wants to be a game developer....only when the reality sinks in, do they realize that its not so good after all....anyway, dont want to discourage u more, all the best !

i watched a show on ndtv india today about animation career options, they told that india is gaining ground in the field of animation which is directly and indirectly related with game development. so dude if u really want to go into this field just give it a try (and please seek a good career counselor b4 anything), yeah i agree that game development is not that flashy as playin games are. so gud luck
