i went to sony world last week to check out ps3, it was connected to a 40" 720p bravia that time, the game was F1 Championship, man it looked amazing,
today, i went there again, the game was same but it was connected to a 70" 1080p, man this is weird but huh, it wasn't looking as impressive as it was on the 40" @ 720p that day, dunno why!
maybe cuz the screen size was too large and it was gettin stretched, but im sure it was looking much better earlier, the graphics were jaw dropping and it almost looked like real shiny f1 cars..
i personally feel that for gaming, something more than 40 inches would look weird, just too large, it would be good for watchin movies but for gaming , nah

Yeh, the screen size was the reason it didn't look that impressive. IMO, after about 50", even 1080p images start getting stretched too much, so they loose their sharpness and detail. Even for 1080p movies, I wouldn't go above 55".
The same goes with SDTV. I don't like watching Tata Sky on my 42" LCD. Id rather watch it on a CRT, where the image is much sharper, or maybe a 32" LCD.
But UltraHD (whenever it goes public) would look absolutely stunning on a 70" ;D

And its still in experimental stages from last what i heard....the main issue is the storage capacity which runs into some terabytes....so first maybe we need to come up with something better than b-r before we can make Ultra HD practical !

yeah checked, its 4096 x 2160 pixels gtavint- man , what i think is, in the future, storage media will die out (atleast in developed countries ) .. everythin will be streamed or downloaded directly to hard drives..

The storage space is not increasing at the same pace as the file size ,be it photo video etc.streaming is the future in terms of distribution, but the problem will be where to store them.the whole nano technology revolution has taken its toll, they are interested in decreasing the size rather than increasing space.but then again is it worth it . With the increasing populations will we even have space left in our home's to mount those tv's

Is F1: CE 1080p ? I thought it was only 720p just the PS3 upscaling it to 1080p. In that case it wont look as impressive as 720p although it's impossible for a naked human eye to see the difference , TBH (not impossible, if you're Clark Kent, but yeah in general, pretty hard to say)..
I play all my 360 games at 1080i, and some people say that it's better to keep it at 720p coz it's the progressive rez, i just don't see the difference and infact i've tested it on people who think it's on 720p, where it actually is on 1080i.. The difference between a proper game that is native 1080p, will definetely be seen though. At 1080p a native 1080p signal will look much sharper and clearer than the same 1080p signal at 720p.
I think only weirdness you experienced was the change in the display size and nothing to do with the resolution.. It's not recommended to play games over 50" display (unless it's 1080p *native resolution of even the signal coming in*)

Dunno about f1 being native 1080p , but unless they had the ps3 firmware to 1.80 upscaling is not possible(even then i doubt u can upscale ps3 games) As for me i play all my games on 720p only.
