Guys I am thinking of upgrading my broadband connection. At Speedtest.net,1700 kbps and 220 kbps were my download and upload speeds.I am using BSNL Home 500 Plan right now. Does such a difference{1:8}between upload and download speed affect online gaming??I do seem to lag in Gears.Bullets don't unload{read UPload} at right times . Should I go for BSNL Home 1000{384 kbps upto 2 mbps>>Only Download} or Airtel 999{256 kbps download/upload}. Airtel 999 may be unlimited but I really don't care. BTW,what is the difference between "256 upto 2 mbps" as in BSNL 500 and "512 upto 2 mbps" as in BSNL 1800 ??My connection speed won't improve even if I switch over to BSNL 1800,isn't it ??They charge just for increasing the download limit. Thanx in advance.

@ Xeno, you said that Airtel is better, right?Or was it just your experience with the services?

i wud prefer airtel over bsnl only 'cos of the difference of service .... not sure about which is better in speed/etc. May be, in time BSNL wud improve it's service too ... For 'x to y' speed .... x is the minimum speed and y is the maximum speed .... so ideally your download speed sud never drop below x kbps .... and on your lucky days - you can get speed of upto y bkps ...

bsnl has problem with providing protection against viruses while airtel does have a gud protection against viruses
