Many months ago, we had reported that the PC and Xbox 360 hit F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) would come to the PS3. Sierra Entertainment has sent word that they will ship the PS3 version of the first person shooter game on April 24, 2007. Features of F.E.A.R. for PS3: Stunning visual effects for an intense “action movie” experience. Unpredictable encounters with combat adaptable A.I. Multiplayer support for up to 16 players. Instant Action Mode – New arcade style mode filled with close quarter’s battles tracking player progress via leader boards for the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Exclusive PS3 level and weapon giving the gamer a unique experience solely for PS3 owners. F.E.A.R. for the PS3 has been developed by Monolith Productions. The game released for the PC in 2005 while the Xbox 360 version was launched 2007. PS3 gamers would be jumping with joy as the game roster is continuously increasing for Sony’s next-gen console. www.gameguru.in/first-person-shooters/2007/29/fear-for-ps3-dated-to-be-shipped-in-april-by-sierra/

F.E.A.R(X360) Didnt make sense to make a new thread in the 360 section just for the review. So posting it here.
General You are a First Encounter Assault Recon operative, employed to deal with, what is supposed to be a supernatural phenomena. The basic theme is clichéd ‘an experiment went bad’ but with its twists and effects, it’s well presented. The game has very few ‘Holy Shit!!’, ‘WTF’ moments cos it does not have several monsters charging at you. Its kind of, ‘Look beyond that dark alley. See the little girl? Now go ahead n pee your pants’. The light effects are damn creepy at times. The white noise in the COM link makes your hair sit up and lastly the girl in the red dress appearing out of nowhere makes you wanna run in the opposite direction. Apart from such moments its just another shooter.
Weapons- I will start off with the weapons cos it’s the most important aspect of any game. Though in the beginning u will feel ‘Gimme enough ammo of shotgun and I will bring down the world to my feet’ but later on u would chew your words and agree to what I am saying next. No matter who tells u what, your search light is your best weapon. This game has one of the finest/creepiest light effects. Thankfully u have been blessed with unlimited uses. Apart from that the choice of weapons is not much. Some automatics, shotgun, rocket launcher, a Particle weapon and Repeater Cannon. Particle weapon reminds me of the railgun from Quake. The only problem with the game is that aiming is a bit glitchy. You will feel the crosshair is drifting more than what u intended it to.
Graphics – A game that is certainly not meant to be a visual delight. Considering that it was out for PCs long back and has now been ported to console, comparing this game with Gears or Oblivion would be utterly unfair. But there is one department which I have already mentioned, LIGHTS. Brilliant work there I must say. Makes u feel creepy. The environments are not utterly grim, which horror games tend to have. The SlowMo(read bullet time) effects are really cool. Grenade explosions give out a shock wave. And blah blah blah so on and so forth…
Story – One game that I think would be made into a nice movie. Nothing brilliant but nicely built. Develops nicely, with a nice twist in the end. Gives you enough creeps to make u remember this one for sometime. This one has won GOTY for story.
Multiplayer – There are finer options available for MP so no point discussing this one. But one interesting thing is the way they have implemented SlowMo in multiplayers. Its like u walking n trying to aim in glue. The guy who initiated it, has his reflexes intact. In Short definitely a skip if multiplayer is in mind.
Pros – Nice light effects, story and twists. Hail the jap hands in this game. Damn these people would even make Sound of the Music look Creepy.
Cons – Aiming is a bit jerky. Always run funda is a bit weird. Graphically average.

FEAR was a kick ass game on PC This is one of the few FPS's which I could play more than once from start to finish and still not get bored ! For best effects, shut your doors and close your curtains, switch off the ligh and then game...! If you get a heart attack, don't blame me I wonder why a sequel is not announced yet ! Or is it
