Did you stay up late to see just what God of War goodness would turn up once the Island of Rhodes ticker got to zero? DID YOU? I did. It's only 5:30pm here, though, so I don't feel too bad. Mike did, though, and his last words before collapsing in an exhausted, betrayed pile were "JESUS SHITTING CHRIST, WHAT THE GODDAMN HELL IS THIS kuntING SHIT?". Captures the spirit of the times perfectly, I think. Why the despair? No sooner did the clock strike zero than eager fans were treated to...a shitty wallpaper and some production videos. That don't work. CONNECTION ERRORS abound.

Isle of Rhodes Site: Unlock GoW 2 HD Mode! New Countdown!Leave it to those pokey little puppies at GameFAQs to figure out that IsleofRhodes.org wasn't the suckfest we first thought it to be. On the story page of the website, after hitting proceed to bypass the video, there are hidden Greek letters. If you can spell Kratos by clicking on them in order and then hit proceed, you're in. Darksidez at the GF forums gave the locations: Kappa (under iota, middle right) Rho (upper left corner) Alpha (bottom right, left of soldier's waist) Theta (under upsilon) Omega (upper right) Sigma (bottom right, by soldier's foot) Once you spell out the name and click proceed you're greeted by another video, this one regarding the pegasus flying sequence, and then another puzzle, this time a timed sliding dealie, which I hate. Once you get past that? Another page, this time containing instructions on how to unlock HD mode in the game. But wait, there's more! After that page, should you click on "You Seek An Audience With The Fates", you are greated by this: It looks as if there's a title starting to get spelled out above the countdown. G? and CH? God of War III: Chains of Love? To activate HD mode, as the game boots up, before even the 'SCEA Presents' legal screen comes up, hold down L1+L2+L3(Thumbstick Button)+square+circle simultaneously. If you did it right, the legal screen will come up in a pleasant shade of purple. If you want to run in 480p, you're still going to need to set that up through the menus as you do normally.Source

ps2.ign.com/articles/780/780117p1.htmlAccording to the statement that Tim Moss, the Director of Technology for GoW II placed on the site, the game will not be presented in 720p; instead, it is 480p with full size buffers. To translate, that equates to 640X448, which is supposed to make the game run a bit slower but look much better.
