hi guys . i bot ps3 from palika ,it is categorized as ntsc-j (hong kong) and the game disc i have is resistance fall of man from region-pal(europe).. when i try to play multiplayer i get the following error "network connection failed, disconnecting from network".. but there is no problem when i access playstaton store , i can download videos ,demos and all.. does anyone what seems to be the problem? thanks gagan PSN-gag123 i have the same problem buddy,i mailed insomniac and since this was a launch titles the network access is region coded.global servers didnt fo nothing. |

dude its not a permanent thing . at the first time when i log in it gives me the same message but when i retry it connects so just try it again.

people kc has solved the mystery.. u dont have to worry about any thing unless u have the game disc from a different region as ur ps3.. for eg my ps3 is asian and game disc is european/pal so i cant play multiplayer, i get the following error " network connection failed"..
and it seems resistance is the only game region coded at this point of time because kc has confirmed to me there was no problem while playing motorstorm(PAL) on his asian ps3..
but guys its my hard luck that i cant enjoy multiplayer..
its not too long before i wud be playing online against ya fellows , i guess we ps3 owners dont have any game besides rfom to enjoy..

let me just clarify a few things regarding online restrictions..
"network connection failed" is a fundamental problem which means it is permanent while "network error" is a temporary problem and it is related to ur internet connection..
u get the former error when there is region mismatch between the console and the game disc which happened to be the case with me..
thanks to everyone(kc, snake , fidel ,rogue ) on board for clarifying things..

ok so i have the EU console and the RFOM is Region 2,so i guess i can play Online one more thing,what if from now on i buy games that are avaliable in India(are those region 3),so then can i play online with those!!  |

absolutely man.. reload ur weapon and kick some ass online.. u got nothing to worry about.. the software available in india is categorised as region2/PAL which is fully compatible with ur console.. but hey u may not get region2 games from grey market , usually they r region3(asian mostly singapore)..
