finally gonna buy a ps3 some time soon (from palika) , i have some questions 1)should i get jap version or hk version and why? 2)how to differ between the jap and the hk version? 3)what is the least price ur getting in grey? i asked and it was for about 25k. 4)what is the minimum connection speed required to play online? (i'll get resistance as my first game) 5)will i be able to upgrade the firmware using a memory stick? ( as i have a 512 mb stick and ps3 has a card reader..so..) 6)will i be able to go online on resistance out-of-the box without upgrading the FW? 7)can i download some demo, etc. on the background while playing a game?

1 n 2) HK and Jap versions are same except the voltage input. Jap is 120v and HK is 220v. Although all PS3s can accept 100v to 240v on 50-60Hz. No need for converter. 3) 25k is good. If you wait for couple of months, it'll drop more. But I guess you won't be 4) 256Kbps is good enough. 5) You can update firmware with internal card reader. 6) No. Playstation Network requires you to have latest firmware update to access it. 7) You'll have to update to 1.60 for background downloading. I doubt you'll get a PS3 updated with 1.60

Region restrictions are very slack on PS3. Practically none for gaming.

but i guess with the hk or jap one you won't be able to play blu ray movies from india . also 256 is ok for resistence and all but for sports games you'll need a much better connection. imo there won't be a price drop for ps3 at e3 but anyways u should wait till then.
