As much as the PlayStation 3 is a great system, we can't deny that it's rather costly. For some time now, fans have been hoping that the price will start to go down. But Sony higher-ups, as they've said themselves, are not keen on doing so. They maintain that everything is in there. It's not just a console, it's a home entertainment system.
Anyway, online site Gamers Reports claims to have come across a news article from Japanese magazine "Game Labo" that will bring great joy to the PS3 community, if proven to be true.
Allegedly, Sony is planning to introduce a new model without the HDD. According to the magazine, this may lower the price to Yen 25,000 or roughly around US$ 250. Of course, Sony denied that a new SKU is currently in the works but we'll never know.
Technically, it is possible. The Wii doesn't have one. My colleagues and I here at QJ were talking about this and decided that it's quite unlikely. Despite that, we still would welcome this if it turns out to be true. What do you guys think?
personally i think its just a rumor and wont happen since even before having the HDD in the ps3 kutaragi clearly mentioned that all developers have been asked to make the games thinking that the HDD is present.
