Kojima Productions has quietly announced plans to produce an action figure based on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 game. Images of Solid Snake were posted on the developer's website with the following text: "When famed Japanese toymaker Medicom releases the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Snake figure later this year, they hope to teach us all a very valuable lesson: that you can still look like a total badass... even if you're only 12 inches tall. Featuring Medicom's RAH 301 technology, Snake's exoskeleton can be posed in a variety of stances while maintaining a realistic body line. Developed by the mad scientists at Medicom, and meticulously tweaked by MGS4 art director Yoji Shinkawa, the MGS4 Snake figure is scheduled to ship this November." - Kojima Productions It is unknown whether additional figures will be developed and released. Past Metal Gear collectible sets did feature multiple characters. IGN Comics will bring you more information as we get it.

Konami has called back the voice-over artists that played part in the earlier Metal Gear Solid games. For their forthcoming PS3 game, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, David Hayter will resume his role as Solid Snake along with Quinton Flynn as Raiden, Paul Eiding as Roy Campbell and Christopher Randolph as Hal “Otacon” Emmerich. Hayter also dropped a hint that Solid Snake could well cease to exist after MGS 4. In a podcast, he said, “This game will represent the ultimate in cynicism from Solid. He has been screwed over in every possible way. Therefore, I think he knows this is his last opportunity to tell the soldiers around him what he has learned. What I do, and I don’t usually tell people this, is when I’m recording for, say Metal Gear Solid 4, as we are now, I go back and play Metal Gear Solid 3 and drop myself back in this world of Snake.” David Hayter is no ordinary voice-over artist. He is a renowned scriptwriter in Hollywood, his latest work being Paramount Films Black Monday. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is expected to release for the PS3 in the last quarter of 2007. www.gameguru.in/action/2007/30/original-cast-of-metal-gear-solid-recalled-by-konami/
