I will suggest you guys to wait for them to launch more games, most of us already had a bad experience with xbox360. We should have waited till Feb 2007 for Microsoft India to come out with new games

It doesn't seem likely to me that ps3 is gonna launch in india this year. They are having a shortage of supplies and they would want to capitalize on their main markets first and then come to developing markets like India.

sony are dead serious about the ps3 india launch.called up a couple of shops to see if gow2 was available and answer was sony was conducting raids on shops that keep pirated cds in an attempt to clean the slate before the ps3 launch.

NEW DELHI: Within days of the PlayStation 3 (PS3) launch in the US and Japan, the latest must-have gizmo for video game fanatics has landed on Indian shores. Even as the official launch in India is four months away, PS3 has made its first appearance in Delhi’s grey market.
But hold on, the price is more than double the dollar tag in the US, and it doesn’t come with a guarantee. ET managed a dekko of the first sleek set to arrive in Delhi’s Palika Bazaar.
“It has arrived just two days back and only we are offering it for now,” said a shopkeeper in the underground market of central Delhi. The price tag is a steep Rs 50,000 for the 20 GB hard disc set, the lower memory variant of the PS3.
In comparison, the dollar and yen retail rates translate into prices of Rs 22,500 and Rs 19,000 in the US and Japan, respectively, for the comparable variant. A Sony India official said the official launch of the PS3 in India is scheduled for March ’07, which is also when it is expected to hit the European market.
As of now, the PS3 has been introduced only in Japan and the US. As Sony has launched a limited set of units in Japan and the US, die-hard gamers there are reportedly bidding many times the retail price to grab hold of the console on online auction sites.
In contrast to the international market, where fans had reportedly queued up hours before stores opened to get hold of the first few units of PS3, the action so far is cold in India. A grey market retailer told ET, “We have not sold any unit. But then it has just arrived last weekend and the pricing is not for everyone.”
PS3, which is compatible with PS1 and PS2 games, also has its own exclusive set of games. There are 200 games available for the PS3 console in Japan and North American markets. However, only a few titles, including Ridge Racer 7, priced at Rs 3,500, are available in the Indian grey market. This is at a premium of about 30% to the online retail price in the US.
The PS3 console, which doubles up as a DVD and CD player, also brings into India for the first time the Blu-Ray DVD player, the next generation in DVDs. In fact, the PS3 price in India stacks up close to a standalone Blu-Ray DVD player which retails for about $1,000 in the US.

After calling Milestone Interactive today, It was confirmed that Ps3 is Infact going to release in India. and after Talking to the PS3 person(Miss. Sharon) at the Milestone helpline. I got to know the Following things.
1. Ps3 Will Launch in India near the END of this April. 2. The Price Rumored to be around Rs.35L-40K is NOT final. 3. Pre Orders have not started yet. 4. Games Line Up is also not Completely Decided
Basically nothing is completely decided yet. Only thing which is sure to happen is PS3s release which will be just next month. When I asked about Pre orders and Launch parties they didn't seem to have an idea about what they were. So I think they will be informed soon. They told me that they will call me and inform when the prices and dates are completely Sorted.
