yes, but everyone's biggest peeve is just that -- sony rushed out an unfinished product. we've always complained about software publishers rushing products out of the door and then pushing a patch within a few days -- sony's done exactly that.

# Sixaxis Syncing Absolutely no problem reported with Asian machines so far
# Not Quite HD Ready Still a LOT better than the 360 when connected to a HDTV
# Controller Screwups None with Asian machines
# Setting Up a Wi-Fi Connection Incredibly easy
# Being Online No problems anymore. I play FOM online with no lag problems. I use a BT headset and its sweet.
IMO these issues can be easily fixed and will be in the next few months. The 360 had more issues than this when it launched and the biggest problem was overheating....which has still not been fixed.
A lot of negative stuff is often spread by losers who do not own a PS3 or have no means of getting one.
I own a PS3 and 360 and these days have been spending more time on my PS3.

the biggest positive so far for sony has been despite its brand new technology ,no harware issues have cropped up till now, which is a very big plus. xbox 360 had many at launch and still has
most of the problems with system can be fixed with a update

Very True KC. The only thing that annoyed me was the lack of wifi support for Yellow Dog Linux but again this is not really Sony's fault.

There are mixed reports that this new 1.30 firmware update fixes scaling issues (for users of older 1080i HDTVs) V

kotaku.com/gaming/sony/sony-comments-on-latest-ps3-firmware-update-219949.phpThe official word from Sony regarding the 1.30 fw update: Among the key updates is support for a Blu-ray Disc™ (BD) remote control and the ability to select the output format for BD/DVD video through an HDMI cable.
Now PS3 owners can register a remote control for easier playback of movies on BD discs. The Bluetooth®-enabled remote control will be available at retail later this month for $24.99. Also, to suit your TV's specification, you can now select the video output format (automatic, RGB, or Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr) for Blu-ray disc playback using an HDMI cable.
- Selecting video output resolution has changed, allowing you to choose all the resolutions supported by the TV. The video will automatically be displayed at the maximum resolution possible, according to the following order: 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, Standard (NTSC).
- Backup utility has been added as a feature under System Settings, enabling you to back up your PS3's hard disk data to storage media or restore data from storage media to the hard disk.
- USB peripherals designed for PlayStation®2 titles, including steering wheels and flight sticks, can now be used when playing PlayStation 2 games on the PS3 system. This still doesnt fix the upscaling issues for gamers with older 1080i HDTV sets!V
