FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage Published by: Warner Bros. Interactive Developed by: Bugbear Entertainment Genre: Racing Release Date: US: TBA Europe: June 22, 2007
IGN UK Review
7.5 Presentation Variety is part of FlatOut’s charm, whether it’s the different race modes on offer or the wide selection of vehicle types to race in.
8.0 Graphics It’s fast and smooth, and while the track is littered with obstacles, making for a pretty thrilling experience, they ping off cars unrealistically.
6.5 Sound Predictably shouty metal by forgettable artists accompanies the action, and while it’s not entirely offensive we’d rather listen to the crunching of bodywork instead.
8.0 Gameplay The handling is a little twitchy and the ‘sticky’ cars can sometimes be annoying, but overall it’s fun to play and fast, too.
7.5 Lasting Appeal The Head-on multiplayer mode is a stroke of genius, adding an extra layer of depth to the already-sizeable single-player race modes.
OVERALL - 8.0 (Impressive)
