vf5 for the ps3 has already released and it rocking ,said to have some of the best gfx currently and absolute best collosin detection and animations,so no more hair clipping through your body and grapples looking like hugs. good thing is that game is coming to the 360 .also i reason im not writing anything regarding gameplay here is because VF5 is the best brawler money can buy ,its 5 times more deeper than tekken and 100 time more than def jam

CVG's review of VF5(PS3)www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=157943Score: 9.1VerdictThe best-looking beat-'em up ever seen on a home console, with gameplay that's solid as Rocky Balboa. Essential. Uppers* Response feels perfect * Great replay value * Offensive Move System adds more depth * Looks incredible * Plenty of variation in stage design * Compatible with Sega's High Grade Virtua Stick Downers* No online play * Not best suited to the SixAxis * No online play * Loading/saving times are frequent and a bit long * No online play

not a big fan of beat em ups....they just feel really unfulfilling....my 8 yr old cousin beats me at tekken...and he gets by purely with button-mashing
the only tried out def jam because i was into the music...and it had a decent story mode...does VF have a story mode?
peace

Please take into account also that the fighting arenas are too small and limited and for somone who's been playing DOA4 this will be a disappointment

dosent matter if you can master the game which will take you years ,you can defeat your opponents useing the parry/.reverse button,no attack defend button mashing required

These games have more to it then just buttonmashing...... there is one weakness with button mashers that once they figure out one potent move...they will keep repeating it... This doesnt help.... Havent played Def jam... but am a great fan of Tekken and Soul Caliber. Virtual fighter is one game i would surely buy... Dead or alive STINKS!!!

The folks from gaming news blog Joystiq report that Sega is holding a "Fight of the Century" Virtua Fighter 5 tournament at Japan's annual AOU Arcade Game Exhibition. It is reported that the competition is set take place at the VF5 corner of Sega's AOU booth, and that 64 players will fight it out for the title of "Fighter of the Century". Sadly, that's all that the contestants will fight for, a title. However, given the pride/honor involved, and the huge hardcore following that Virtua Fighter has in Japan, competition for the title is expected to be hot as hell. The tournament will be played on Version B of Virtua Fighter 5 - the same build ported to the PS3. Players are required to have their own VF.Net access card in order to take part in the competition. www.joystiq.com/2007/02/15/virtua-fighter-5-tournament-scheduled-for-aou-2007/
