in all these cases the problem is with the HDD/MU, not the game....the content that streams off the HDD/MU is causing the problem

you'll find the same story on the GRAW2 forums.....there is no problem with that game either
i havent had a single freezing issue with Forza 2.....one of the guys' console would even freeze when he played the Forza 2 demo.....obviously a HDD issue

nothing for MS to figure out with regards to the game......the xbox 360 is a flawed system.....anything can go wrong....but im 99% sure the problem here is with the hardware, not the game....if it was we'd all be facing this problem....no1 on this forum has had any such issues

problem will never be figured out until a new redesigned console is released, microsft once very proudly said that they designed the 360 in record time, their console now has the record for the worst failure rate in a gaming hardware ever.

i think the game is very demanding for hardware. so it may have caused hardware failure in some 360's by going to edge of harwares' limit esp. GPU.

the game is demanding?you must be joking. this is not a pc ,this is a console ,games are made for it to run on it.
here is actually what might be the problem ,i read it long back and i dunno how true it is when the 360 launched there were no games running on the 360 that used multiple processor.as devs became comfortable with the console games started to become multi threaded, now with the 360 pumping more the system gets overheated which causes the problems, since they never had multi core games while designing they never had a chance to chk it.

maybe...'cause i know for sure that after 3ROD i've got no sign of the fan running in my 360 so maybe the overheating is the problem. but from where i've researched FM2 is crashing more consoles than any other game out there.

To say I'm pissed would be an understatement. I've never owned a console in my life, always been a PC gamer. Read tons of reviews about how awesome this game/sim is literally caused me to leave work early to stop by a Best Buy and pick up an Xbox 360 Premium and FM2.
After going through all the setup stuff for the 360, signed up for XBL Gold, played around with some settings, etc. I load the game. I start in career mode, Asian circuit, blip the throttle a few times as the clock counts down - WHAM. Freeze.
I reset. Same process, nearly exact same behavior AGAIN.
Reading through the threads, I reset the cache, I've tried with the patch and without.
THIS XBOX IS NOT EVEN 3 HOURS OLD FROM THE STORE. All I bought this thing for was to be able to play Forza and the f'ing thing can't even get me in the game without freezing up.
Utterly amazing. I thought the whole point of consoles was so you didn't have to deal with this crap?
Off to read some more threads in hopeful search of a "magic" fix.
what do u think about this KC?

send that to microsoft why shd i think about it ;)myself went thro 4 360's in 8 months. basically that shws you how poor the build quality of the 360 is,and ppl who still say they ha no problems yet ,just pray that nothing happens after the warranty. the 360 is like a ticking bomb without a timer,it will blow u just dont know when ,not because its a bad system but because its a badly designed one.

i think ur right bro. MS should seriously think about harware failures or they r gonna lose it to PS3 sooner or later.

MS is already losing alot of money. Redesigning the console now would cost them even more. Unless this new heatsink fix reduces hardware failures. Then the 360 is going to be screwed.

GameSpot: Now, has this been prompted by any certain title? I know there's been reports of Forza 2 bricking systems... Peter Moore: Nothing to do with software, guys, nothing to do with the titles. It's a general hardware failure, it's not a title. I know there's been some rumblings in the last two days about Forza 2, and I scratch my head at that one because that is simply not the case. This is a general hardware failure. That's when the three flashing red lights come up, and we need to take care of the hardware
