Graham Ford on Monday rejected the BCCI's offer of coaching the Indian national cricket team, according to the Kent County Cricket Club.
The Club said on its website that Ford had opted to stay on as Director of cricket at Kent.
Ford told the Kent CCC site that it was a "difficult decision" to reject the post and was honoured by the interest shown by India.
"I am very grateful to the Club for allowing me to go to India to find out more about the job of coaching the Indian Team. I have had a chance to reflect on the offer made by the BCCI and their urgency to fill the vacant position. After careful consideration, I have decided to continue my work here at Kent," Ford said.
"This has been a really difficult decision. I am honoured that India have shown such interest in my capabilities, but feel that this is the right decision for me and my family."
Meanwhile, BCCI sources have said that they were looking for another candidate and that new names will be discussed in the meeting scheduled to be held in New Delhi on Tuesday

whatever u guys think....u have to agree with the fact tht the coaches have no autonomy in the india team...and tht is the reason for our losses....
i still remember an incident when the indian coach was slapped in orrisa since there was no cricketer frm orissa in the indian team...!! i mean is this a cricket team or a bloody joke..!! selecting the team is more based on pleasing everyone rather than pure talent and form....thts the prob with the team....
our team is good, but the system needs reforms....until then, indian team can achieve nothing..!!
