In the latest episode of the Kojima Productions podcast, the hosts reveal that Raiden and Vamp were actually not fighting in the Middle-East but in South America. Other news revealed about MGS4 trailer revealed also, including information about Eva, and "What" or "Who" Raiden is, or what he has become. mp.i-revo.jp/user.php/kp-ryan/entry/107.html

i'm one of those poor SOBs....btw, i just watched kojima's 15-min gameplay walkthrough.....on the whole, i was pretty impressed...but i must say there wasnt too much stealth there....atleast 4 or 5 times in that walkthrough the enemy mustve been blind not to see him....an MGS thread is probably the wrong place to make this comparison but if this was splinter cell, u'd be seeing a barrage of bullets headed ur way in that situation...and come on, u must be one retarded soldier not to 1) find something wrong with a walking barrel 2) take evasive action when u see said barrel rolling towards you maliciously

I think it was on the very easy mode with god mode because during the trash dumper sequence he shoots the tranqualiser shot into the guards torso and he falls immediately,in previous mgs games unless u hit the tranq shot right on the head guards dont fall immediately unless the game is on very easy.i also think that the entire presentation was scripted,so how the faction changing thing will work in the fullgame is anyone's guess. Another small thing i noticed in the demo is kojima always takes potshots at the american government and he shows them in a negative light,in the demo he simply said country A and B maybe to avoid controversy.

Contrary to popular belief, MGS is not a hardcore stealth game like Splinter Cell. In MGS3, Snake could carry 7 different types of assault rifles, 2 sniper rifles, shotgun, 4 types of handguns and a rocket launcher all at the same time. With that kind of firepower, you don't need to hide at all. Stealth is recommended, not forced. And the AI seems to be dumbed down for the demo IMO. In previous games, if you hide in a cardboard box in a wrong place like where a box should not be, an npc WILL come and pick it up, even if you don't move.

Yep mgs is or never was a realistic stealth game, infact the game is easier if you go all guns blazing.

yes thats why they call it 'stealth ACTION game' ... finally finished MGS3. if it is, Impressive as a game or a movie i dont know...but has an impact on the player for sure. But definitely mindblowing stuff...brilliant boss battles and in the end a barrage of them...just when u thot its all over bloody creeps come again!!! And the amazingly put story line makes me wonder why wasnt a movie made on it...but hey...this itself is almost a movie Only if those controls would have been better!!!! only woe!

Kojima is a movie buff himaself. His original inspiration for MGS was Escape from New York. He named Solid in MGS2 as Snake Pliskin after Kurt Russell's name in that movie. It is said before that if Splinter Cell feels like Tom Clancy novel, MGS games are like a James Bond flick, slow at start but picking up speed later and turning into madness by the end of it.
