not sure how you guys comparing these games .... in my limited knowledge DOA4 is the only game available for X360 ... so no point if the other game is better or not - as for me - i only hv X360 :-D as for vf5 - yeah - if you can wait that long

I don't know if any of you have played DOA4 one on one against a human player. It is the most fun I've had playing a 360 game. My roomie and i have spent countless hours kicking each others asses.
I've played this game more than any other 360 game that i have (which includes the likes of GOW, R6V, oblivion etc..) One issue with the game is that it's not very easy to pick up and play. And playing against the AI can get a bit frustrating(especially if u tend to button mash). But once you get the grasp of the basic mechanics, it's a very exciting game.
There is a lot of depth to the fighting. The characters are all well balanced. I can't compare it to Virtua figher or Soul calibre as i haven't played those. The only fighting games i've played are the MK series, and I can tell you that combat in DOA4 is far deeper than that.
One awesome thing about the game is that it rewards you for learning your opponents moves. There's nothing more exciting (or frustrating for your opponent) than countering your opponent's finishing move to turn the tables at the last second.
I would recommend this game to anyone who has two controllers. you'll never get bored of it..

Sorry Gautam but i have totally different opinion about the game....... I have played Soul Caliber and Tekken and this one is the stinkiest of the bunch...in fact i would not compare it to the rest cos they have a class of their own... I played the demo yest and could see why 360 owners say all beat em ups are button mashers.!!! this one definitely is...Playing with the AI, button mashing is the only thing you could do...seeing that its understandable that if your opponent starts to mash buttons theres no way on the earth you are going to win... I dont think Team ninja knows anything about Balance.... I dont blame you for this cos you have played MK which (apart from Street fighter) was another button masher. I would suggest you to play Tekken and Soul Caliber. No Offense but i am not buying this one for even 999. mucho stinky!

^^ U are soo wrong my friend... Tekken , Soul Caliber n DOA...each have different styles of fighting...DOA is a very fast paced fighting game as compared to the other two...AI in DOA4 is freakin hard..n its not easy to perform combos on them...bt theres a thing called COUNTER system..
I agree with Gautam that DOA is best when played against humans with equal skills...i have played DOA with my friends n i hv had amzing fun!! N it does get serious when playing with equally skilled players...
Im not saying DOA is better than tekken or SC...im saying that DOA is amazing in its own league...999 for DOA4 is a steal ppl!! Im gona buy it!!

Yes, playing against the AI is tough. Especially against the final female boss(She's a b****, but she's not a selectable character in multiplayer). But when u play against a decent human opponent, there's no way you can win by button mashing.
That is mainly because of the amazing counter system in DOA. I've won rounds by purely countering and blocking. I can understand why u didn't like this game by playing the demo. You really need to spend some time to understand the counter and throws in DOA. Sadly the tutorial in sparring mode doesn't emphasize these features.
Even my first reaction to DOA was much like yours. But I'm happy that i invested some time in the game and now i love it. I guess the game's hard learning curve work against it..
But yes, don't buy the game if you plan to play only against the AI. AI could have done with some fine tuning and adaptability. But one on one multiplayer is simply a blast..

anyone who liked DOA series do yourselves a favor and play the better fighting games like vf,tekken,SC or street fighter before judging this game. the much exclusive counter button was ripped from sega vf series and even they dropped it.the game is difficult not because the ai is good or u cant button mash ,its because the ai is cheap.they can counter any move they want and any given time or position. all fighting games are better whwn played with 2 player co-op and this is no different.
