Outgoing Chairman and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc Ken Kutaragi has revealed in an interview that Sony is already planning PS4, PS5 and PS6. Kutaragi, who is regarded as the ‘Father of PlayStation’ told EE Times that he had not mentioned the plans of the future versions of the PlayStation earlier as PS3 was not launched internationally.
Ken Kutaragi says, “I’m ready to start working with a much wider world. We’ve introduced PS3 in Europe, so now I can frankly talk about. As a matter of course, I have the vision of PlayStation 4, 5 and 6, which will merge into the network. The design concept of the Cell processor is the network processor.”
Last week, Ken Kutaragi announced his retirement from Sony. He will be succeeded by Kaz Hirai, who as of now is the President & Group COO of SCEI. Kutaragi has also stated that he would keep a cordial relationship with Sony, but his future projects will be mostly independent of Sony.
