Remember this game? We haven't heard much about Guerilla's Killzone 2 since it appeared in video CG form back at E3 ages ago. The studio and Sony Computer Entertainment went dark on the title after the E3 presentation.
Rumors pointed at the game's intended resurgence at their pre-launch Gamers' Day event last year. Ultimately, if the rumors are to be believed, Sony shelved showing Killzone 2 in favor of spotlighting Insomniac's new shooter franchise (and it will be a franchise) Resistance. The same rumors have pointed to Killzone 2 being much further along than previously expected -- with the apex of the rumor arc concluding that the game has been playable online for almost a year.
Microsoft and Bungie's beta program for Halo 3 is all the rage this Spring. It's garnered countless news stories with its multiple points of entry and even landed a cover in EGM back in November (I expect the beta to be similar but with more weapons and polish to the maps covered in that series of stories).
Aside from the obvious connection between Killzone and Halo being first-party developed shooters and the first Killzone being branded with the unfortunate moniker of "Halo-killer," the ties between these games are going to bind even closer this Spring.
Expect a playable Killzone 2 demo to be released (hmm, Phil Harrison is keynoting at GDC...) before gamers are participating in the beta for Halo 3. www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=7846169&publicUserId=5519593

ps3.ign.com/articles/762/762629p1.htmlNo Killzone at GDCThroughout the day, European websites have reported that Sony's highly-anticipated shooter, Killzone, is slated for a surprise debut at the 2007 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Though specific sources weren't named, several high profile publications have printed the story and the Internet is ablaze with speculation.
With news that big, we wanted to get an official comment straight from the horse's mouth...
"No, Killzone won't be GDC at all," stated SCEA Manager, Ryan Bowling, in a conversation with IGN held earlier this afternoon. "The time for that game is coming and we'll have new information about it in the future, but not at GDC."
The news of Killzone's GDC absence only extends an already-long deficiency in information about the title that spans back as far as E3 2005, when the game was first announced. Developed by Guerilla Games, the upcoming first-person shooter was the talk of the town almost two years ago when its rendered target trailer wowed viewers with highly-detailed wartime action.
GDC will kick off March 5 through 9.

ok ,killzone dosent have a face,it dosent have a legend ,inshort it dosent have a hero . in killzone 1 u played as a team of four, switching betn any1.imagine playing halo but without master chief as a regular private, imagine playing mgs without snake(cough "raiden" cough) and imagine playing tomb raider as lara's butler? sso what killzone needs is a HERO .

PlayStation Universe reports that the next issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK (OPM (UK)) will feature SCEE and Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2. In the currently released OPM (UK), PSU notes, its "next month in Official PlayStation Magazine" section specifically mentions Killzone 2 (finally) "breaking cover" with hard facts and in-game screenshots.
Okay, hopefully the hard info should flesh out stuff like the downloadable chapters, the PlayStation Edge devkit, and what it's bringing to the PS3 table. And hopefully the screenshots will finally answer the critics - or at the least answer all those questions: will Killzone 2 the game live up to Killzone 2 the CGI movie?
Next OPM (UK) comes March 30. Do note the (UK) in the name, which means it's time to break out the FedEx delivery forms again...
