A story posted at 1UP.com makes it clear that Sony will not support any force feedback technology in its games, regardless of the controller used. Even steering wheels used for racing titles, like the upcoming Gran Turismo 5, won't benefit from the rumble technology, with the company stating: "All PS3 games are programmed for the Sixaxis which doesn't have force feedback, therefore the force feedback in the wheels won't be recognized."
While it may not be all that shocking, it still comes as disappointing that rumble has been entirely removed from PS3 games. It also further gives evidence to reasoning that rumble wasn't removed from the PS3 because of motion-sensing features in the controller, but rather because of the long-standing legal wrangling between Sony and Immersion, the company that patented the rumble technology used by Sony.
