geek.com/news/geeknews/2006Nov/bga20061128040944.htmIn one of the more bizarre--and difficult--ways to get your hands on a PlayStation 3, a guy going by the name of Shimpinomori is offering you the chance to win one through hacking. The PlayStation will come pre-installed with the Fedora core 5 PPC + PS3 add-on Linux distro, an upgraded 160 GB hard drive, an HDMI cable, the game Resistance: The Fall of Man, and the basic accessories that come with the machine.
In order to win the machine, all you have to do is hack it. Currently, it is running Shimpinomori's website (ps3.shimpinomori.net/index_en.html), which has a picture of a baby on it standing next to the PS3 box. If you can do a clean hack on the site to replace the picture, as well as leaving a text file in the root of the machine with your details, then he will ship the machine to you free of charge in January next year.V
