It dosen't make a difference whether its vertical or horizontal. It wont cause scratches or overheat as a result unless you have an obstruction near the rear of the console. So Vertical...Horizontal...it dosen't matter really...

i also noticed tat da drive makes more noise wen da 360 is kept vertically

i believe in keepin it vertical.... cuz its meant to be vertical...

i always keep it horizontal.m always scared dat it might either fall or d disc tray might get stuck or something.

yea, same here...i think horiz is better...not gonna take a chance...hardly matters...all i care about is having fun and playing games...!!

Used to keep it vertical in the days when i first bought it...treid horizontal one day and viola! the drive became much much quieter...its been tht way ever since...

have tried using it both ways - heats up less vertically (in my shelf, individual results may vary) vs horizontally. but you have to be a tad more careful while loading/unloading discs...

what i usually do is that when i play i put it horizontally and then when im done i put it vertically lol i hope u take out the discs before u do all this....coz u shlnt move the console while disc is in it....

^^ yea man of course i do that...i have seen a vdo in utube that if u move ur 360 with the disk in it, what happens is that it scratches ur cd....+ when u buy a new 360 console, there is a sticker kinda thing which says "Dont Move The Console With The CD In It" lol
